Privacy Policy

Camping Cres&Lošinj mobile application and website.

Effective date: May 9, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Camping Cres&Lošinj mobile application (the “App”) and related website (the “Site”) collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We are committed to keeping the data we handle to the minimum needed to operate the App and to protecting it appropriately.

By installing or using the App, or by visiting the Site, you agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App and stop using the Site.

What we collect

1. Information we collect

We do not require you to create an account, and we do not ask for your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal contact information through the App.

Data the App sends to our servers:

  • Push notification token. When you allow push notifications, the App receives an opaque device-specific token from Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google) and registers it with our server so we can deliver news and announcement alerts. The token does not contain your name or any other identifier you have provided.
  • Camp site preference. The numeric identifier of the campsite you have selected in the App (Baldarin, Bijar, Čikat, or Slatina) so we only deliver notifications relevant to that site.
  • Language preference. The language code (e.g. en, hr, de) you have selected so notifications are delivered in your language.
  • Notifications opt-in flag. Whether you have enabled push notifications in the App settings.
  • Platform and last-seen timestamp. Whether the device is Android, iOS, or web, and the last time the token was refreshed. Used to clean up unused tokens.

Data stored only on your device:Your selected campsite, language, and notification toggle are also kept in your device’s local preferences so the App remembers them between launches. This local data does not leave your device except as part of the server registration described above.

Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting infrastructure records standard request metadata (IP address, user agent, timestamps, requested path, response status) for short-term operational and security purposes. These logs are not used to build profiles of individual users.

2. What we do not collect

  • We do not collect your precise location (no GPS access).
  • We do not access your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera.
  • We do not run third-party advertising or analytics SDKs.
  • We do not sell or rent any data to third parties.
  • We do not use the App or Site to track you across other apps or websites (no cross-app tracking).
How we use it

3. How we use the information

We use the data described above only to:

  • Deliver push notifications about news, events, and announcements for the campsite you have selected, in your chosen language.
  • Provide the in-app weather information for the four campsites. Weather data is fetched from the third-party service Open-Meteo using fixed campsite coordinates only; your individual location is never sent to Open-Meteo.
  • Operate, secure, and troubleshoot the App and Site.
  • Comply with applicable legal obligations.
Third parties

4. Third-party services

The App relies on the following third-party services to function. Each service operates under its own privacy policy.

  • Firebase Cloud Messaging(Google LLC) for push notification delivery. The push token is held on Google’s infrastructure to route messages to your device. See Google’s Privacy Policy.
  • Open-Meteofor weather forecasts. We send only fixed campsite latitude/longitude pairs — not your location. See Open-Meteo’s Terms.
Storage, retention & security

5. How long we keep data

Push notification tokens are kept while they remain valid. We remove tokens that have been unused for an extended period or that are reported invalid by Firebase Cloud Messaging. Uninstalling the App invalidates the token automatically.

Server logs are retained for a short period (typically a few weeks) and then rotated.

6. Security

All communication between the App and our servers happens over encrypted HTTPS. Notification tokens and preferences are stored on managed infrastructure with access restricted to authorized administrators. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we apply industry-standard safeguards.

Your choices & rights

7. Your choices

  • Disable push notificationsat any time from the App’s Settings screen, or from your device’s system notification settings.
  • Change your campsite or languageat any time from the App’s Settings or campsite picker.
  • Uninstall the App to stop all data flow to our servers from your device. The push token associated with that install will become inactive.

8. Your rights (EU/EEA users)

If you are located in the European Union or the European Economic Area, you have the right under the GDPR to:

  • Request access to the data associated with your device.
  • Request correction or deletion of that data.
  • Object to or restrict our processing of that data.
  • Lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.

Because we do not collect direct identifiers (name, email, etc.), requests must include the push notification token currently registered by your device so we can locate the corresponding record. You can find this token by contacting us — we will guide you through retrieving it from the App.

Children & updates

9. Children

The App is intended for general audiences and is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the App and we hold their data, please contact us so we can remove it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the App or to applicable laws. The latest version will always be available at this URL, with an updated effective date at the top. Material changes will be communicated through the App or the Site where reasonably practical.
